Kurs i klassisk engelsk herrbyxa.

Här kommer ett erbjudande om en kurs i engelsk skräddad herrbyxa. Vi har plats för 15 deltagare.

Kursledare är William Baxter, byxskräddare utbildad i England och nu verksam i Göteborg.

 

Vi träffas på Nordiska Skräddarskolan i Uddevalla för 2,5 dagars intensiv utbildning 26 – 28 oktober 2018.

Kursen är på engelska utan tolk.

Handcraft tailored trouser course

This course is a unique opportunity to understand the world of bespoke trouser making from a British perspective, and start practicing the skills needed.

Working with basic blocks you will learn how to pattern lay and cut a pair of bespoke trousers, particular emphasis will be put on learning the traditional stages of constructing the garment. Sewing techniques on the sewing machines and by hand will be covered, including appropriate seams and finishing, inserting zips, pockets and simple fastenings.

By the end of the course students will have a produced a pair of bespoke trousers.

Topics covered included: 

– Resourcefully cutting trousers to optimize use of cloth

– Mark stitching and basting

– Precise cutting of pocketing, lining and other innards

– Learning the efficient process of machining

– Preparing trousers for the fitting

– Multiple hand stitch finishing, including hand sewn button holes

 

Materials

Materials such as cloth, pocketing, lining, waistband and zips will be provided.

 William Baxter graduated from Ravensbourne with an honours degree in Menswear Fashion. Alongside his full-time studies he worked in the bespoke industry at first as an Undercutter, cutting waistcoats and trousers. After graduating, William took a trouser maker apprenticeship at Timothy Everest, where he worked on projects such as James Bond: Spectre and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. 

In February 2016 William move to Göteborg. Within two years he gained recognition both locally and nationally for combining traditional hand sewing with classic styling to create durable quality garments.

I kursavgiften ingår ett materialpaket till ett par byxor som William tagit fram till oss.

Priset är för Skrädderiförbundets  medlemmar (kurs+ material) 3560 kr + moms = 4450 kr  

Om du inte är medlem i Sveriges Skrädderiförbund är priset (kurs+ material) 4560 kr + moms = 5700 kr.

Vi har tagit fram ett grundmönster till herrbyxa som kommer att användas på kursen.

Kursen faktureras från Skrädderiförbundet och avgiften ska vara betald 30 dagar före kursstart. Din anmälan är bindande.

Skrädderiförbundets medlemmar har förtur till platserna.

Vi ordnar med fika och lunch till självkostnadspris under kursdagarna.
